What you get
Open WebUI, set up the right way
Everything a production install needs, done for you when you click deploy.
Open WebUI and Ollama
Runs the official Open WebUI and Ollama images, already connected: Open WebUI talks to Ollama inside your workspace.
Open models on the CPU
Ollama runs models on the workspace's CPU (there is no GPU). Small models work well; big ones are slow.
You are the admin
The first account you create becomes the admin. New sign-ups stay closed until you turn them on, then wait for your approval.
Models and chats kept
Downloaded models and Open WebUI's data live on persistent volumes, so restarts and redeploys keep them. Nightly backups are on.
An address with SSL
Live on a flynode.io address with SSL the moment it deploys. Your own domain is not available for this app yet.
Logs, metrics and a terminal
Watch the logs and the RAM and CPU use, and open a shell from the app page.
We tested it
We deployed Open WebUI on FlyNode on 4 November 2026
- Answering on its SSL address 123 seconds after we pressed Deploy, ready to create the admin account.
- 963 MB of RAM for Open WebUI and Ollama before any model was downloaded. Each model adds its own size.
- The catalog asks for at least 8 GB of memory and 4 CPU, so it starts at the 2XL size.

How it works
Live in three steps
- 01
Pick a Cloud Workspace
Choose the 2XL size or bigger on the Cloud page: models need memory. Open WebUI runs on your workspace next to any other apps.
- 02
Deploy Ollama with Open WebUI
Open the 1-click catalog, choose Ollama with Open WebUI and deploy. FlyNode gives it an address with SSL.
- 03
Create the admin and get a model
Open the address, create your admin account, then download a small open model (or add an OpenAI-compatible API key) and start chatting.
Sizes
Pay for the size, not the messages
Ollama with Open WebUI needs at least 8 GB of memory and 4 CPU, so it starts at the 2XL size. The models you download use most of that memory.

On your computer or on FlyNode
Open WebUI's makers sell Enterprise plans, not a hosted chat for everyone. Most people run it on their own computer; FlyNode runs it on a server that is always on.
| Your own computer | Your Open WebUI on FlyNode | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Free, on hardware you already have | Your Cloud Workspace, from $34.95 a month |
| Always on | Only while your computer is on and awake | Around the clock, reachable from anywhere with SSL |
| Team use | Hard to share outside your own network | Invite your team; you approve each account |
| Speed | Fast if your computer has a good GPU | CPU only: best with small models, or with an outside API |
| Who runs it | You, including updates | You own the app; FlyNode runs the server, SSL and backups |
Pick Your own computer when
You use it alone, your computer has a strong GPU, or you want big models to answer fast.
Pick FlyNode when
You want it always on and shared with a team, with small open models or an API you already pay for.

The things people ask before moving their Open WebUI. Not here? Write to hello@flynode.io and a person will reply.
Yes. FlyNode runs the official Open WebUI and Ollama Docker images. Both are open-source projects and FlyNode is not affiliated with them; we provide the managed compute they run on.
