FlyNodevs Railway
Railway bills the CPU and memory your apps actually use. FlyNode bills one flat price for a workspace. Which is cheaper depends on how busy your apps are.
Railway
$5 + usage
Hobby: $5 a month with $5 of usage credit
- About $20 per vCPU and $10 per GB of RAM a month, at full use
- Pro: $20 per workspace with $20 of credit, unlimited seats
- Egress $0.05 per GB; volumes about $0.15 per GB a month
- Hobby: 2 custom domains, 7-day logs
- Services up to 1,000 vCPU on Pro
FlyNode Cloud Workspace
From $2.95/mo
A flat price for the whole workspace
- The price does not move with usage
- 10 GB to 200 GB storage included
- Up to 3 apps on Micro, 100 on the largest
- Hundreds of 1-click apps
- WordPress and Server GTM in the same account
Railway is great when your workload is bursty or idle much of the time. For apps that run all day, a flat workspace is far cheaper and you always know the bill.
What an always-on app costs
Railway bills what you use, so these figures assume the app uses that much all month.
One app using 1 vCPU and 2 GB RAM all month
$35.05 a month lowerAbout $20 for CPU + $20 for 2 GB RAM, before the plan's credit
2 GB RAM, 1 CPU, 15 GB, up to 5 apps
One app using 2 vCPU and 4 GB RAM all month
$64.05 a month lowerAbout $40 for CPU + $40 for 4 GB RAM, before the plan's credit
4 GB RAM, 2 CPU, 30 GB, up to 10 apps
Railway's rates are about $20 per vCPU and $10 per GB of RAM a month (billed per second), and its plan fee includes the same amount in usage credit, so it is a minimum rather than an add-on. An app that sits idle costs Railway users much less; FlyNode's price is the same whether the workspace is busy or not.

Questions about this comparison
No. Railway bills actual use, so an app that is idle most of the day can cost very little there. FlyNode's flat price wins for apps that run all day, and for several apps sharing one workspace.
